Occasionally, peak times can lead to busy seating, especially on weekends, when the cafe is full by 1 PM. Some guests have mentioned that finding a table during those times can be a bit challenging. Additionally, while the food is generally well-received, a few patrons noted that specific menu items could take longer to arrive during busy hours, possibly due to the high demand for their popular offerings.
A few reviews also mentioned that families with larger groups might find seating arrangements less accommodating, particularly during lunch hours. A little patience during prime times may be necessary to enjoy this hot spot fully.
A delightful cafe on the Kennet and Avon canal and the perfect place for a pitstop. Hot drinks and fresh cakes alongside homemade sausage rolls and pasties, plus a range of sandwiches, meals and specials. Plenty of outdoor seating - a great spot to relax by the water.
I was walking along the Kennet and Avon Canal from Bradford on Avon to Bath, enjoying the spring sunshine. When I came across this delightful cafe at Monckton Combe, I had a lovely wedge of coffee and walnut cake, with a cup of my favourite chai latte tea, which was equally good The whole stretch of my walk along the canal was absolutely fantastic seeing all the narrow boats or barges, whichever is the correct definition The railway line to Bath is adjacent to the canal Being largely rural, always ensure that you are physically capable. There are not many exits off the path But if you are excited to experience this wonderful Also, enjoy the Tythe Barn in Bradford on Avon
Lovely place to stop for a bite to eat and drink. This was our second visit this week. Both times were lovely, delicious foid and great coffee and chai latte 🤩 Our first visit was just a snack, cheesy oasty and a delicious chunk of blueberry and banana cake 😋 Today we had lunch after a lovely long walk in the sunshine, to Warleigh Weir and the aqueduct 😃 Hubby had Club chicken sandwich, served with chips and coleslaw. I had a delicious warm chicken salad. Both were fresh and very tasty 😋 Would recommended if you should find yourself in the area
The Angelfish is a great spot for coffee, cake or a bite to eat for lunch if you're exploring the K&A Canal. The cafe serves a great selection of home made cakes, pastries and also larger dishes for breakfast and lunch. It's well-priced and great quality. On my recent visit I really enjoyed a Cornish Pasty which was flavoursome and packed full of filling. The Coffee & Walnut Cake was extremely good too! There's plenty of tables inside and outside, and it's a great midway point between Bradford on Avon and Bath - so you can refuel if you're walking or cycling.
We started and finished cycling the 2 Tunnel Bath 13 mile circuit here. Coffee in the morning and tea in the afternoon. A marvelous cafe. Magical tranquil spot at the end of a short spur off the K&A canal. Can't comment on the lunch food but the coffee and cakes were lovely.
Went here before and after a nice stroll along the canal. Nice fare with breakfast, lunch and light bites available. Inside and outside (in the main) seating available with toilets on hand. Children's menu available. Polite staff and not much of a wait though we did visit at a quiet time.
Beautiful place to enjoy lunch in a working canal basin. Extensive menu to suit most tastes. Enjoyed a lovely lunch here with my elderly mum who cannot walk far. Easy access from the car park but does have a steepish path. Superb food and great coffee. Expect it to be busy on sunny days.
